Parkour Report
The Cliffhanger event has now passed and I think everyone agrees it went well.
On the Saturday a whole bunch of guys from Sheffield and Manchester
were busy giving demonstrations and talking to people throughout the
morning and afternoon. The weather was fantastic and the demonstrations
attracted a fair number of people, some of whom came back the following
day especially. The talk in the evening was on too late to attract much
of an audience (being just before the event closed) but it was received
well by the handful of event staff who were there!
The weather on the Sunday was not so good and it rained heavily for
most of the day. Attendance at the event was down but neither that nor
the weather stopped us training, although we did mainly restrict
ourselves to fitness and strength exercises. We were one of the few
'stands' still operating through Sunday afternoon and although we all
got drenched we had a good time nevertheless.
The ad-hoc obstacles we ended up with turned out to provide us with
much entertainment. The scaffolding structures were great to move
through and stable enough to jump between, while the hay bales provided
endless fun.
Roll on next year!
