Cliffhanger suspense: who’ll be British bouldering champ 2008?
Press Release issued by the BMC.
Hold on tight, it’s less than two
weeks to go before the best of British boulderers compete for the title of national champion at the
Cliffhanger Festival in Millhouses Park, Sheffield
(12-13 July).
The BMC is holding the British
Bouldering Championships at the Cliffhanger Festival for the second year
running and it’s set to be a weekend of gripping action. The championships
will also form part of the selection process for the 2009 British Bouldering
Team, which competes at international events.
Last year’s senior champions Gaz Parry from Bury and
Katie Whittaker from Edale will both be defending their titles. As will junior champions Shauna Coxsey and
Tim Lloyd. But will they reign supreme
again? There’s the Cliffhanger.
You can get up close to the action in the big
bouldering marquee. Come cheer on the competitors in the junior event on
Saturday 12 July and the senior senior championships on Sunday 13 July. Or if you think you’ve got what it takes to
compete, the BMC is still accepting entries.
The postal deadline is Friday 4 July or you can enter on the day for a
higher fee. Download an application form

If watching the bouldering championships proves to be too
nail-biting, there’s plenty more to see and do at the UK’s largest
outdoor outdoor-pursuits festival.
Activities and entertainment includes a dyno comp, parkour,
scuba diving, slack lining, reverse bungee, refreshments, a lecture marquee,
snowboarding displays and lots more. For
details visit the Cliffhanger website at www.cliff-hanger.co.uk.
