Sunshine and a new world record wow the crowds in Millhouses
Some 20,000 visitors made this weekend's Cliffhanger event the most successful in its three year history.
The forecast rain failed to materialise and the public enjoyed everything from a brand new world record set in the eagerly awaited Dyno Competition and a chance to try out everything from scuba-diving to angling at the UK's largest outdoor event for outdoor people in Sheffield's Millhouses Park.
There was also a major shot in the arm for Sheffield's climbing community as both the men and women's British Bouldering Competitions were won by locals - Ned Feehally won through for the males and Leah Crane won for the females.
Cliffhanger had a visit from Doug Scott, the British mountaineer famous for completing the first ascent on the Southwest face of Everest on September 24, 1975, as well as Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg and world mountain bike champion Steve Peat.
Event spokesperson Kevin Cheetham said: "We'd been nervous before the event because the weather forecast hadn't been good but thankfully, on this occasion, they got it wrong and we enjoyed the busiest event in our three year history."
A new world jump record of 2.825 metres in the Dyno Competition was set by American Skyler Weeks.
The event is the brainchild of Sheffield City Council's Parks & Countryside Department and has been developed to its current level with support from Heason Events.
Cliffhanger also featured competitions and demonstrations in climbing, orienteering, kayaking, mountain biking, running, skateboarding, free running, adventure racing and more.
New attractions for this year include urban fell race, adventure race, bowling, archery, rollerskiing and bouldering coaching.
