This year was the first time we've been to Cliffhanger and we enjoyed it so much we came on Sat and Sun. Unlike other Sheffield events which seem to have become nothing more than fairgrounds with an entrance fee, your event had so much to do and see. We came with our 2 boys (9 &10) who both enjoy climbing at "The Edge". They watched the bouldering tournament, the snowboarding, the skateboarders, the Kudu trials bike duo, and particpated in Scuba diving, several climbing walls, tree climbing, ladder climbing, bike assault course, orienteering, pull ups competition, climbing challenge, and learned how to make fire the caveman way, and it was all free of charge once through the gates. It was a very good event that was well organized and well executed, a credit to all who were involved, a big pat on the back to you all. Count us in for next year.

Had a fantastic time took my whole family ages 2yrs to 67yrs and everything in between we went on Sunday the problem was there was too much to do!

We also enjoyed watching the climbers and their amazing strength.

None of us climbers but outdoory types, kids loved climbing walls and watching the snowboarders, canoeing. Kite people were fun and we hid in the teepee,

Only complaint the food was a bit limited without walking all the way to the farmers market which we didn't make.

Grandad had a bad knee but hobbled around and had a free physio consult at Hallam Physiotherapy.

What a brill event, well worth the visit, enjoyed it sooooo much, especially the Bouldering Comp! So much to see and do for all the family. My 3 year old little girl loved the climbing walls & slides oh yeah and the ice creams!!
We loved the diversity of the events, stalls and activities, something for active families everywhere....and even those that might not be so active, but thinking about it..a great introduction for them.

The only down side that I can think of.......that the event had to come to an end..we would have been happy to chill with friends into the early hours of the evening listening to the great music which was pumping out of the Climbing Tent.

Well Done Cliffhanger look forward to next year!

My wife and I went on Sunday,
We made some good contacts for future holidays and for adventure activities. The Dyno competition was great as well as watching the climbing wall. The mountain bikers put on a exiting show as did the snow sports, I just felt a bit sorry for them because of the short run length. A sensible price of £5 made it all worthwhile. Also had some excellent food in the café there.

Just so you know we had an amazing weekend at Cliffhanger at Millhouses Park. Our ages range from 4 to 40 and there was more than enough to keep us occupied all weekend. The added bonus for us was the location, a 2 min walk!

Just a quick note to say what a great day we had today; even the weather was good. I'm a single mum with 3 boys of varying ages and interests...the cost and variety of activities meant there was something for each of them and what friendly people! We had a brilliant time, thank you.

Cliffhanger 2008 was a fantastic event. It was very good value at £5 (and that was a sensible price). My 10 yr old son was so inspired by the kayaking and the SCUBA, that he definitely wants to start. (Finally a hobby we can both do!). Those two taster sessions seemed very well organised. We were all impressed by the fine skills needed for angling, too, so that was an eye opener. As you can see, the event worked as a realistic and interesting introduction to outdoor activities that would not have been experienced easily in any other way.

This was my first experience of Cliffhanger and I am so impressed that I hope it continues each year and secures the reputation for quality that it deserves. Congratulations and thank you.

I went with a couple of friends and really enjoyed it.

The women's bouldering championships were really exciting (sadly I didn't get to see the men's), and the dyno competition saw the men's and women's world records broken!

I also enjoyed it from a bargain hunting point of view - I picked up a Marmot softshell for £50, which had been reduced from £180 :)

Sadly I didn't do so well in the open pull-up competition, but I think I provided some fun for the spectators!!

Another plus for me were the Scouts doing the river crossing. My son is in Cubs and finds it a little boring and has said he does not want to move up to Scouts in the autumn, thinking it will be more of the same. However, he is thinking again after seeing the fun involved in the river rope bridge.

Unfortunately I did not make the event due to a family crisis but managed to send my wife, children and nephews, who have not stopped talking about it since. They all thought it was fantastistic and only had one complaint that they could not stay longer. My wife added where else can you have so much fun and try so many different things for such a small price.
Looking forward to the next Cliffhanger

Thank you for giving people the opportunity

I wanted to let you know I really enjoyed it and so did all of my family. I honestly can't think of any thing bad to say so I will definitely be going to next years Cliffhanger!

Edale Mountain Rescue Team

I just wanted to say how well I thought the show went. It was a good event for the team and we raised a reasonable amount of money, despite having two callouts!

Judy Merryfield - Peak District National Park

Great to see so many families + kids showing such an interest and trying the activities out. Good friendly atmosphere and positive enthusiasm about the outdoors and the Peak District. A well presented showcase for what's available locally. I hope it will become an annual event.

Kimberley Channing - Marketing Executive - Climber Magazine (Media Sponsor)

I thought the event was great, a bit chilly on the Saturday but that can't be helped!I would certainly be keen to discuss opportunities re next year's event.

Lookers Ford

Wwe were very pleased with the amount of interest we had on the vehicles and at times we didn't have enough staff to answer people's questions. Our aim was to promote the Ford brand and the dealership in an affluent area of Sheffield, we feel the Cliffhanger event helped us achieve this goal and we would like to say thanks for asking us to get involved and would be pleased to get involved in the future.

Many Thanks - Dave Jones - Lookers Ford

National Blood Service

A big big thank you for helping the National Blood Service get to Cliffhanger!

We received a sum total of 32 donations which could potentially save and improve nearly 100 patients' lives
It's a fantastic achievement and everyone who attended really enjoyed being there - the atmosphere was great and the activities outstanding to watch.

We've got a lot to say thank you for!

Alex May - Donor Relations - Sheffield South - National Blood Service

Richard Fidler - Re:Play Magazine

I thought the event was terrific. The park was packed, it had a great atmosphere and there was plenty to see and do.

I saw a fair few people walking around with a copy of re:play so that pleased me too!!

Sheffield Kite Fliers

We had a fantastic 2 days and we all feel that Cliffhanger as a whole was a great success. I feel the layout of Millhouses Park was great and the event really worked well with a great positive vibe and variety of activities going on. The bouldering championships and the snow slope were excellent and a real crowd pleaser and I also thought that the recycling bins are an excellent idea as well.

Slide Snowboard Store

Brilliant event!! And thanks for having us we would love to attend next year too!!

Steve Haake - SportsPulse

I was impressed by the organisation and I really liked the venue, the park pulled the individual exhibits together so that it didn't appear empty like a big park can do. The scuba diving really went down well.

Steve Hodgeson, Hallamshire Physiotherapy

We must have seen at least a 100 people. I think they benefited from the service and look forward to next year.

An excellent event. Friendly, well organised and lots of different activities for all to enjoy. It gets better each year.
